Well, I got 10 PROMO codes because I've been around that long.
I had to stay up till 4am to get them all, wait for the second hand to strike the hour and press those buttons fast as I could.
I got all ten but a full SIX of them are returning invalid code errors.
I have filed two tickets with support. One over 40 hours ago.

I wouldn't take my 26 domains away from GANDI ever. The administration is the easiest of any registrar (so much easier and efficient than godaddy and networksolutions).

So I love you GANDI, but please help me get my issue fixed before my time runs out at the end of the month.

I am thinking some spammers brute-forced the promo codes and gobbled up all our codes.

@Joe, sir my birth date, place etc fields were already filled but still the system rejected payment and now its been more than 24 hours my domain registration are still pending and i am not getting any response from your team, got one mail that says please check your birthdate and place from Ryan. but they are filled. so whats next.

I'm seeing some of the same comments appear frequently both here and in the tickets that our customers are sending to our support team, so to help you out some more, here are three things you can do:

- If your registration is rejected: reply to the email we sent you and follow the instructions in it,
- If you got a message saying your code appears invalid: wait 2 hours and try again,
- If you have an order that is stuck 'in progress': cancel it and try again in 2 hours.

Ok, but why?
For the first point, we just need to make sure that everything is in order.
For the second two points (and generally speaking), if something interrupts the normal order process, it can cause the promo code to be flagged as used, even though it was not. By waiting two hours, you let the session be cancelled and the code goes back to being flagged as unused.

My Country IP mostly public IP, some of us use internet cafe to connect to internet.

In my case, the who use the code, is my self. but when i use it before, my domain registration got rejected, then, after I complete the personal account ID, and when i use that code again, i cann't use it, it say invalid.. :).

Concerning an error message saying that your promotion code *appears* invalid, please double check that has not already been used (found on Twitter for example), that you are using it for one of the extensions that is part of the promo, or wait two hours and try again (more here).

I don't know why GANDI reject my domain registration. I already put a real address, but still reject. And also i already send an email to the support team, but there's no answer. Almost 12 hour since my first email to the support team, but still no reply... aarrgghhh...

Maybe there some domain given, but not really 55000, cmon, its about around $400000 value, whos the crazy company will expended that high cost promo for given free domain, even for their birthday / anniversary.

I guess there are about only 250 - 500 total real domain will given (that sounds real). I hope all of you have luck enough, i'm done with these BS, and i have conclusion here.

I created an account just for this grand giveaway. And I was lucky enough to obtain a promo code.:) But, as bad luck would have it, all my efforts to go beyond that, i.e. to register with a domain name xxxx.org.uk have drawn a blank. It seems that the promo codes are not working. However, in 'My Account', there is a message showing 'processing payment'. Would somebody at Gandi explain what it is?

I confused if its really works or maybe this is just april mop tricky (its not funny then), i have this email after using promo code that i recently have from gandi:

Yes, it would nice if those of us further than +-5 GMT (US west coast,
East Asia, etc) could get in on this celebration. On the west coast,
I would need to get up at 4am to even try to get lucky. At least in

I'm afraid we're just getting extremely high volumes of customers going for this, there's no automated script or anything like that. Seeing as we have over 1m customers we couldn't give something to everyone, so we had to find a way of sharing them out. Most people that have persisted have got their allocation. I took a screen shot at 15:59:58 but I copied over it! tut I'll do so 2mr and see how fast this is actually taking place(for me). You make a good point on the captchas though, it hasn't been "publicly" released in the security scene(to my knowledge) of a exploit/work around for captchas. Hence the l33t coder statement. Maybe were just being paranoid, or just too damn slow lol.

It happened on 4 PM again, this time under 10 secs. It seems there's no chance to get a domain, I think it is very likely that someone automated the process, though I don't know how the person could get through the captchas. Giving codes to newly registered users is not a good idea - it will lead to abuse.

lol I was sat there determined to get my domain today! Unfortunately like Tom Chiverton mentioned 2mins! and poff, gone! lol@Matthias 15secs! i believe you! this is possible (-_-) although I was thinking some l33t coder has written an automated script to register certain number of domains..via alternating proxy's/registered accounts to grab the promo codes and do all the hard work. so 1 promo code per new member goes out the window or does it. Just a theory. ^^
