Brand new logo, brand new site, but same motivation !

It is always difficult to remain impartial as to the result of a team project, even more so when the project in question is still in progress.
Probably the best thing to do is to show you a preview of the new site, so you can comment on it, and tell us what you think; in other words, we want to start sharing it with you!
One thing is sure: we have definitely taken the first step towards a change, one that will take place progressively (keep in mind that it is only the first step!), of our new look, new user interface, and automated procedures that will make life easier.
Two words about our logo: it was created by an independent and skillful designer (RMX) whose specifications were to respect our values, our identity, our core business. The new logo had to represent all the keywords that matter most to us : community, user-friendliness, simplicity, transparency, domain names. You will juge whether or not we have successfully done this.
This led to a little guy that is opening out his arms, whose head is both a dot (.org, .net...) and the “third eye”, whose body is the “G” in Gandi, and that resembles a tribal sign, all the while remaining a very simple design that, when accompanied by two others, creates a community (as in this blog).
In addition to this logo (which we love), and a beautiful website that is even easier to use, we have developed many more things (including assisting other innovative and alternative projects), new services, and/or options that we can't wait to show you.
Gandi is gently maturing. And its adoption (by your servants) is going really quite well, all the more so since your trust in us grows each day (I will go into that in greater detail in a bit). Thanks then for being there for us, and to having made this possible! In exchange, we will continue to listen to you, and moreover, to answer. :D
Stop by then in the coming weeks and check out Gandi's new products and services!
PS : Oh yeah, I nearly forgot to present the site (the teasers continue!!):

New site looks good. I know you have 2 languages to support. The current site has a several typos or sentences that are very odd in English. If it's not something then can be done easily in house maybe some incentives for the customer base to help would work.
Thank you for your comments. Your idea is quite interesting, though for our new website, we have a team of in-house translators that will assure our English site is free of the typos you have spotted in the existing one.
Nonetheless, the team that translated the current site did a pretty good job considering they were not native English-speakers. Still, as we said, change is on its way for Gandi! Just bear with us for a few more weeks and you'll see the quality of our new website.
Sounds great! I didn't mean to disparage the guys who did the work last time.
Very nice design! I can't wait to see it implemented.
By the way, are you interested in the translation/localization of this new Web into Spanish? Let me send you my resumé.
Best regards.
Woah there. I can't see anything on the new website because my browser [lynx, a text based browser] can not parse shockwave flash pages. And it can never be made to parse flash because flash is a proprietary format that only macromedia produced software can read. Any browser that macromedia doesn't want to support will never be able to use a flash-only website. I currently use Gandi for two of my domains, and I was on your site tonight because I was about to register four new domains, but now that I read that the website I've come to know and love is about to be replaced by something I can not use, I now have to start looking for a new registrar.
Hopefully it's just a flash intro page, so that you can put a 'no flash -click here' link on the front page which redirects to a useable html site. I'll delay my new registrations for at least a day while I wait
to hear if there is any more news on the website redesign.
Another reason to avoid 100% flash sites is that web search engines can not crawl past a flash opening page, so Gandi will disappear from search engines if that site posted above becomes the
root page on gandi.net.

Erik, you are right: it was a flash presentation, describing the pros and the cons of the old (current) website.
From what I saw in the presentation, I think you will be able to keep using console web browsers with the new Gandi design.
Hi all, just to clarify: there will be no Flash on the new Gandi site. The blog link was an animation we used internally to look through the pros and cons of the old website. Thanks for the feedback!
Nice.
If you do that, I'll never leave
Oh! That's great news. I'm sure the new site will be wonderful, from what everyone has been saying so far. I did buy a couple domains last night with [gasp] another registrar, but I saved the better ones to register today in the hope that I would discover the Flash thing was a non-issue. I'm very glad to hear that it is!
[I'm a bit embarassed to be put in the same luddite camp as the fellow on the French version of this thread who wants to use NCSA Mosaic!]
I just hope the new site won't make me login over and over as I move around. And searching for past actions (such as pending transfers, billing history, etc) should be easier than having to know the actual transaction numbers. Who knows those? Not I.
Vivek, the new version of the account area will only have one sign in that leads to an account overview page where you would be able to manage everything. It's going to be much more intuitive than the current system.
What is the date of delivery of the new website?
It looks nice and simple, without banners or animated graphics. The layout is more consistent, I guess you've found a better template system and css make-up scheme. When the (current) English content gets a good check for spelling errors, this new design is a great improvement.
You might want to involve the community in some aspects of the site, such as translations or content feedback, so little mistakes get ironed out much faster than is the case now. Because of your openness, you have more customer goodwill which can put to good use in aspects that are not easily improved upon by a small team.
All in all, it looks very promising.
I like the redesign teaser very much. I'll be enthused to use it once it's live!
Keep up the excellent work!
Oi, very very nice. To be honest, I had been looking around for another registrar with a more appealing admin interface. Looks like I'll have to look no further. Now, just get it out the door quickly, eh
juan diego : Please send in your resume at my email adress, we are thinking about it atm.
New website should be launched within the next two weeks now.
Update : launch of the new website definitely sometime next week. Stay tuned !
Kudos on the new site. Crisp, clean, look. Very Professional. Glad you could keep it "In the Family"
Great redesign. I came to the site, saw the change and within a minute had renewed my domain. Very intuitive compared to the old one. Thanks.
