Here are the changes made to Gandi from 10/07 to 16/07:
- Added further error explanations for domain operation failures
- Correction of the content of several automatic e-mails.
- Added the possibility of cancelling an order that has been placed by cheque
- Correction of the display of the contact type when it is unchangeable (individual, company...)
- Addition of a system that checks the validity of contact forms during the registration of .fr domain names.
- More than 1,200 e-mails replied to by the Customer Care department.
The biggest event for us this week has been putting in place a system that informs customers of the nature of the error that is causing the creation or transfer of a .fr to Gandi to fail. Typically, the rules governing the creation of a .fr domain name are very strict and many customers do not provide accurate or complete information on our forms which leads to an error ticket from Afnic and a delay in the domain's creation. It is often a small point, such as a forgotten or fake telephone number (+33.000000000), a country of birth code not provided, etc.
Each of these "small" errors that go unnoticed by our customers generate one, or often, two or three support tickets per customer. The Customer Care staff then finds themselves faced with a large number of multiple tickets for minor operations!
We have therefore created a system that interprets the Afnic error messages and sends them directly to the customers of the domains in question so that they can correct the forms themselves. This works, because our system automatically resends the domain creation or transfer requests every 30 minutes; you will therefore be able to perform your operation much faster than if you send a letter to the Customer Care staff
