Today, Pro Accounts have the possibility of purchasing domain names via an e-mail API and have a pre-paid account that is directly debited when paying for Gandi operations (Purchase, Transfer, Renewal).

These customers will be progressively transferred to a "Reseller" account (we will contact you when this time comes). They will then have the possibility of accessing our website while keeping their purchase history, the consultation of their invoices online (sorted by month), and of course their prepaid account. We anticipate this conversion occurring by November.

Coming back to the prepaid account, this will be a possibility for Reseller Accounts, and payment may be made by credit card, cheque, or wire transfer. This will reduce the time needed for companies to complete operations that do not want to pay by credit card, though will also allow for the auto-renewal of domains for those that do not want to worry about remembering expiration dates. The prepaid account will be in place towards the end of October.

At the same time, many of our developers are working on an API in XML that will enable all the operations possible (for domain names) to take place in a transparent way, without having to go through a website. I would like to reassure API users: this APO will be very easy to use and will be well-documented. I would also like to add that it is being developed in XML RPC with toolkits in several languages, in order to reach the largest possible number of you. This API should begin testing by the end of the year.

To sum up everything, the Pro Accounts as you know them will disappear, and they will be converted to Reseller Accounts. We will also make a tool available to all of you that will be even more powerful than was possible before

What do people want? Ah yes, low prices...This should be officially announced this October, and since this this is an offer aimed at sales volumes, all Gandi's customers will benefit from it.
